Hamster Melts

Aaron is the true sandwich master. When we were dating, he used to visit me at work and bring me sandwiches. They were loaded with all the fixin's and had horseradish and everything. It's actually part of the reason I married him - because he could make a sandwich better than anyone I'd ever met before or since. And I just had to have those sandwiches.

And just when I thought his sandwiches couldn't get any better, he invented this.

After much deliberation, he decided to name it the Hamster Melt* .  Here's the recipe in case you want to replicate this culinary delight.

Hamster Melts
2 slices wheat bread
mayonnaise
4 thin slices of honey baked deli ham
2 slices tomato
6 fresh basil leaves (you really should use the fresh stuff)
4 thick slices of muenster cheese

oregano
salt, if desired

Lightly toast the wheat bread in toaster. Spread each slice thinly with mayo (light, if you like). Top each slice of bread with 2 slices ham, 1 slice tomato, 3 basil leaves, and 2 slices muenster cheese. Sprinkle each sandwich with oregano and salt, if you're Aaron. Broil open face for about two minutes, or until cheese is melted. Enjoy!

*Contrary to the name, no rodents were harmed in the making of this sandwich.
