Motherhood is...

...finding anything to wipe a runny nose with
...sneaking into a child's bedroom at night to watch him sleep
...tying little bows in little shoelaces
...singing. A lot. All the time.
...trying (sometimes successfully) not to get upset at your children
...holding a car seat, a cell phone, the keys, a package, and a toddler's hand without letting go of any of them
...waking up in the middle of the night to feed the baby. Again.
...reading stories when there are dishes in the sink, laundry to fold, and bills to pay
...dancing to make your children laugh
...tickle wars
...making cookies and letting the kids lick the beaters

...fighting the battles over eating veggies, brushing teeth, taking baths, and holding hands when you cross the street
...counting to 10, both for the children's education and your own sanity
...knowing your body will never be the same again and accepting it
...hoping your sacrifices will be worth it
...seeing the potential in your little ones
...teaching a child how to pray to and trust in God
...watching his favorite TV show or movie for the 47th time
...being brave enough to discipline your children
...believing on the hard days that things really will get easier someday
...never getting sick of people stopping you in the grocery store to tell you that your children are adorable and wonderful
...watching them learn and grow
...cherishing the milestones and the everyday happenings
...hearing them say the darndest things
...laughing instead of crying when things get hard
...hearing them sing the songs you taught them
...loving the kids before they deserve it

All so true! I love your list. I think we can all relate. You are such a great mom. I'm glad you are blogging again. :)
